What is DARC

The Detention Audio Recording Console (DARC) from CCS can easily be added to the detention control system to record audio and provide a historical record of all intercom traffic.   Whether you need to record the audio track of an intercom conversation related to an incident for evidence purposes or wish to review your detention personnel intercom communication activities for adherence to policy, performance review and/or ongoing training, DARC provides the tools needed to integrate intercom recording to your detention control system data retention capabilities.

DARC gives you the tools to support the reconstruction of events, emergencies or other incidents that can prove critical in an investigation, including but not limited to inmate complaint resolution, inmate lawsuits, and PREA related issues, by providing recordings that are suitable for processing with associated security management and control system data at your facility to serve as evidence in complaint review or legal proceeding.  DARC can be fully integrated with your current detention facility management and control system HMI or as a standalone solution.

CCS provides automation solutions that contribute to improving the operational performance of the complex environment that is the Detention facility and its associated infrastructure management and control functions.  Today’s Detention facilities require logging of all management and control system events for subsequent analysis and use in administrative and operational matters to meet safety, security and operational performance requirements.

Detention control systems utilize intercoms throughout the Detention facilities to manage and verify access requests and to communicate with detention personnel and inmates alike.  There has been an increasing demand within the Detention management and control functions for supporting documentation associated with audio communications via the detention intercom communication system.

DARC is a software-based recording solution capable of handling recording of all your intercom communications traffic and storing unlimited recordings in a database for further processing.    The length of storage time and the cleanup cycle is configurable to meet your specific retention requirements.

DARC also provides all users with valid accounts to access the DARC Audio Player. Audio Player control panel provides a set of full-featured playback controls similar to a typical audio player.

DARC is a Windows-based solution that enables easy, user-friendly capturing, and review of Intercom communications within your detention facility. Full traceability via searchable metadata (intercom ID, timestamps, etc.) stored in an SQL database (to be installed on existing SQL server or separately).  Audio files are stored within the file system on the local server or on a network drive.  Export of audio files for further use (e.g., to help improve the quality of intercom communication or for evidence in a legal proceeding) is also provided.

DARC is just one example of how CCS provides automation solutions that contribute to improving the operational performance of your detention operations.  Give CCS an opportunity to sit down with your detention team to review the simple implementation process to put DARC to work for your organization now.
